Abeautifulmid-size Rolex "Super" Precision, reference 6022, from circa 1952. This watch features a34mm steel case, serviced calibre 710 movement and a rare "Super Rolex Oyster" crown.

The Super Oyster crown's rarity stems from the fact that it was only produced for a limited time (1951-1953). This crown was created as a water-resistant alternative to ,originally introduced in 1926. After a couple of years of production and further testing, any advantage provided by the Super Oyster crown was quickly deemed to be exceeded by the screw-down Oyster crown's tried and true water resistance, and manufacture reverted to the screw-down Oyster crown in 1953.

When watches with the Super Oyster crowns were sent to Rolex for servicing, several of the crowns were replaced with screw-down crowns,hence whyexamples of the Super Oyster models are becoming increasingly rare.

Technical & Condition

Condition:Overall in excellent condition. The dial is clean and free from major signs of damage. The hands (previously re-lumed) are also in good condition. The case isexcellent vintage condition with only a few light scratches as would be expected for a watch of its age. The movement is clean and serviced. Finally the watch is fitted with a black leather strap.
